Fight in the cause of Allah ˹only˺ against those who wage war against you, but do not exceed the limits.
Surat Al-Baqarah Ayat 194. Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
Have Taqwa of Allah, means to do what He has commanded you and refrain from what He has forbidden for you, لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ. Imam As-Suyuthi dalam Tafsirul Jalalain menjelaskan bahwa maksud ayat 190 di atas secara ringkas ialah perintah untuk berjihad memerangi orang-orang kafir yang memerangi umat Islam (kafir harbi). That Jihad and Qital or fighting against disbelievers was prohibited prior to the emigration to Madinah is a fact the entire Muslim community agrees upon.
